So I make less money

This is hard for me to take, even though I'm glad for the change in job status. Ironically, I work for less money in a division that is full of many more highly educated people. People who have masters or PhD's , people who've taken statistics, people who can read maps and argue extemporaneously about water rights in California.

These people--passionate, beautiful, arrogant and opinionated-- frankly scare me because they think I am one of them. But I'm just a writer cum-wanna-be-programmer masquerading behind brainy glasses. I did ask for this so I'd better jump in and make it work. I just need to remember there are many ways to make happiness here.
